  • The Wyrm Jokun Solitary, Huge, Stealthy, Intelligent, Hoarder
Teeth, Breath, Claws, Tail (d10+7 damage) 16 HP 3 armor
    Reach, Forceful, Near
Special Qualities: Armoured skull, Wings, Lithe body, Flaming breath

Jokun is thirty feet long with enormous, powerful wings, a club-like tail, and vicious talons, but she is slender enough to wriggle through human-sized tunnels: she can force her way through any passageway wide enough to accept her armored skull. Her iron-hard scales are ice-clear against her mottled white and blue flesh, and she is practically invisible when motionless against a white background. While she breaths fire, she prefers to eat her kills frozen, and likes to stash them somewhere cold until they're nice and crunchy and not so drippy. Instinct: To ravage

    • Spew jets of fire
    • Blend in motionless with ice and snow
    • Shatter something with her tail

  • Iron Delta Hoplite Snail Solitary, Large, Stealthy, Devious, Cautious
Toxic Harpoon (d8 damage) 16 HP 1 armor
    Reach, Near
Special Qualities: Multiple toxic harpoons, Impenetrable shell

The Hoplite Snail is a giant carnivorous mollusk, about the size of a large horse. While slow moving, it has developed a horrifying method of hunting prey. When some unlucky creature passes by, the Hoplite Snail fires a poison filled harpoon (believed to be a modified radular tooth) into the prey. Once the target is paralyzed, the snail draws it in close, engulfing its victim in a mouth that bears more resemblance to an distended elephant's trunk than anything else. The snail may have up to five mouths, and can fire volleys of harpoons out of each one, in any direction. While the snail's flesh is leathery and tough, and it can quickly bury itself in loose soil or mud, the Hoplite Snail's real protection is its shell, which cannot be broken save through magic or alchemy. Instinct: To hunt from ambush

    • Fire a toxic harpoon into prey
    • Burrow into the mud
    • Engulf paralyzed victim
    • Hide within impenetrable shell

  • Velour Wyrm Solitary, Large
Sharp Mandibles (d12 damage 2 piercing) 16 HP 1 armor
    Hand
Special Qualities: Slime jets, Climbs Walls

The Velour Wyrm is an enormous, centipede-like carnivore that attacks by using a pair of glands on either side of its head to spray jets of thick, sticky snot at targets up to 50 feet away, then tearing them apart at leisure. It has poor eyesight, but long antennae that detect minute vibrations and while it does not have particularly good aim, it launches the slime-ropes in patterns that are hard to avoid. It may subdue dangerous prey by dousing them again at short range before feeding. While dangerous, the Velour Wyrm is hunted by the brave for its skin, which is soft and waterproof, and its mucus glands, which can be used to make powerful alchemical adhesives. Instinct: To feed

    • Spray thick ropes of immobilizing slime
    • Skitter across the ceiling

  • Iron Delta Lesser Fire Drake Group, Small, Stealthy, Organized, Intelligent
Teeth and Claws (d8 damage 1 piercing) 6 HP 1 armor
    Close
Special Qualities: Flaming Bile, Flight, Patience, Fire Resistant Plumage

A flying, feathered, pack hunting, warm blooded lizard, able to vomit up a spray of oily bile that burns on contact with moisture. They have a complex pack structure, with the elderly and infirm guarding the nest while the able-bodied drakes hunt for food to fuel their insatiable metabolisms. While not large, they often tackle prey many times their own size, blinding it and maddening it with flames, then waiting for it to weaken from the burns before moving in for the kill. They have delicate digestion, and routinely build fire-pits full of brush and wood for cooking. After a large kill, lesser drakes are known to smoke meat for storage. They are mostly found nesting around palm trees, which they also harvest - it is suspected the palm oil is a key component of their bile. Instinct: To hunt

    • Start Fires
    • Blind with flaming bile
    • Summon the pack with a screech
    • Watch from on high

  • Iron Delta Giant Frog Solitary, Large, Stealthy, Devious
    Bite (d8 damage) 16 HP 1 armor
    Near
Special Qualities: Sticky tongue, powerful jumping legs

A frog the size of a hippopotamus, the Iron Delta Giant Frog is one of the apex predators of the delta. It hunts by squatting in shallow water or floating in deeper water until prey approaches, then springing towards it, catching the hapless deer or young buffalo on its adhesive tongue, then either swallowing it whole or drowing it in the water. They've been known to strike at boats entering their territory, either capsizing them and feeding on the survivors, or bodily pulling passengers and crew overboard. Instinct: To ambush prey

    • Drag someone or something under water with its sticky tongue
    • Burst from the water without warning
    • Swallow whole

  • Golden Wasp Swarm Solitary, Hoarder, Terrifying, Amorphous
    Sting (d6 damage 2 piercing) 15 HP 1 armor
    Close
Special Qualities: Flies, Intimidating buzz, Hallucinogenic Sting

A swarm of inch long, viciously stinging insects, Golden Wasps aren't actually made of gold, rather, they construct their hives out whatever metals and minerals might be in the surrounding area. A swarm can strip a houshold of all it's metal in a day, and if left alone in a mineshaft, can create truly exquisite hives of gold and precious gems. They are extremely aggressive, and will violently swarm if anything approaches their territory. Some dwarves have taken to farming them, using the hives to extract wealth from areas that are difficult to access, and calming them with incense during the harvest. Instinct: To protect the hive

    • Swarm aggressively
    • Crawl into chinks in armour
    • Devour metal and steal gems
