The Mockery Drone is the spawn of the Mockery Monarch, a queen-like creature descended from ankhegs. The Monarch swallows humanoids whole, then they are digested through it's abdomen and expelled still in their humanoid form but with a mockery bug replacing their spine and brain. These Mockery drones tend to go about the daily lives of the humanoid but with disgruntled intelligence, repeating phrases non-stop and using them out of place. For example, a Mockery drone that becomes the Town crier and shouts “Midnight and alls well!” during the middle of the day, or villagers who are carrying empty pails from the town well. Mockery Drones are always in atleast a pair or small group and will detach themselves from their humanoid form if threatened, the Monarch could have moved. Monarchs can go for a long time without food and when burrowing under a town or city they leave no tunnels unless they choose to, because of this Monarchs can tunnel into the cellars of inns or castles and begin assimilating people slowly into mockery drones.
